Dr. C. Sugavanam, Chief Orthopaedic Surgeon established London Ortho Speciality Hospital at Salem in 2008 and heading the team to provide 24 hrs high Quality Orthopaedic Service for people in and around Salem. His team has introduced various new modern techniques for Bone and Joint problems to this region. The team has performed more than 10,000 Orthopaedic Surgeries so far in Salem.

Dr. Sugavanam hailing from a school teacher's family near Salem. Awarded the National Merit Schloarhsip in Attayampatty Higher School. Graduated out of Stanley Medical college with four Gold Medals in 1987. Underwent Orthopaedic training at CMC , Vellore, Bangalore University and England. Completed the prestigious British Orthopaedic Training Programme & FRCS orthos Exam 1999.

On returning to India, he practiced at Coimbatore Ganga Hospital and Kovai Medical Center. He is an expert in Artificial Joint replacement, sports injury, keyhole ligament Arthroscopy, spine surgery and Fractures. He has delivered numerous presentations and lectures at national and internatonal level Sydney, Shanghai, and St Petersburg Russia. He is a visiting Surgeon to various hospitals in Tamil Nadu, Kerala and West Bengal. He has been selected to do an international study of a new medicine for arthritis.

He is an active Rotarian with PHF. He has organised many free medical camps and RYLA. He went to Himalayan Villagers to perform free Polio Corrective Surgery in 2003 and received an appreciation from Rotary International.
